Code of conduct of the Suppliers of Nuovi Gioielli S.r.l. according to the RJC standard:

The Responsible Jewelery Council (RJC) is an organization with regulatory tasks set up to promote ethical, human rights, social and environmental responsible practices throughout the diamond, gold and platinum chain. As a member of the RJC, Nuovi Gioielli S.r.l. undertakes to carry out its business in accordance with the RJC Code of Procedure which provides for the involvement of its Business Partners in sharing a business management based on ethical and sustainable principles. Nuovi GioielliS.r.l. chooses its Suppliers / Collaborators with the awareness that they conduct their business with the utmost competence and make continuous improvements in terms of quality, cost control, innovation and reliability. The Company also considers the professionalism and competence requirements of its Suppliers / Collaborators a distinctive element of its prestige and credibility. It is therefore necessary to comply with the following minimum standards:

Ethics:

General requirements

Nuovi Gioielli S.r.l. expects from its Service Providers / Collaborators ethical conduct, full and total compliance with applicable national and international laws and respect for Human Rights in the spirit of internationally recognized standards. These guidelines do not supersede or be considered more important than applicable laws and regulations. They simply represent additional principles and standards of behavior of a non-legal nature.

Child labor

Child labor [1] cannot be used, so the Supplier undertakes not to hire minors and in any case not to employ them directly or indirectly. Only workers over the age of 16 (or above the compulsory school age) can be hired. Children excluded from work must be guaranteed adequate financial assistance and training opportunities, in full respect of their physical and mental protection.

[1] Child labor means work performed by a person under the age of 16 or, if older, the local minimum age for recruitment, or the age at which compulsory education is completed.

Forced and compulsory labor

The Supplier does not support, promote or resort, directly or indirectly, to the use of forced or compulsory labor and does not require the staff to deliver cash deposits or identity documents when signing the employment contract; does not support or use human trafficking, either directly or indirectly through the entities that provide work to the company. Suppliers must not engage in human trafficking, use forced, forced or enslaved labor, or purchase materials or services from companies that use forced, forced or enslaved labor. They must be able to demonstrate that the materials included in their products comply with the laws prohibiting forms of slavery and human trafficking in the country or countries in which they operate.

Compulsion and harassment

The Supplier ensures the personnel a dignified and respectful treatment; behaviors involving the use of corporal punishment, mental or physical coercion, verbal abuse, sexual harassment and rigid or brutal attitudes are therefore not used or tolerated.

Freedom of association and right to collective bargaining

The Supplier ensures compliance with the choices made by employees regarding the right to associate, to join trade union representatives and collective bargaining and manages relations with its staff in compliance with the National Collective Agreement of the sector to which they belong, where present. Non-discrimination against any personnel representatives is guaranteed.

Non Discrimination

Discrimination in employment is not allowed. The Supplier guarantees equal opportunities and treatment regardless of race, color, sex, religion, political opinion, nationality, social origin or other characteristics. In compliance with the Person and the principles of Privacy, it does not interfere with the choices or opinions of its employees.

Disciplinary practices

Any use of disciplinary practices is conducted in accordance with the national collective agreement of reference and in any case respecting the physical, mental, emotional and moral integrity of the worker.

Work environment

Working conditions must be decent. The Supplier guarantees a hygienic and healthy environment, promoting the best conditions of health and safety, bearing in mind the most up-to-date knowledge and the specific risks of the sector. New Jewels S.r.l. expects its Suppliers to comply with all applicable laws and international treaties regarding intellectual property and not to violate the intellectual property rights held by Nuovi Gioielli S.r.l. or by third parties. New Jewels S.r.l. expects its Suppliers to abide by all applicable confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements. Furthermore, Suppliers are authorized to disclose their collaboration with Nuovi Gioielli S.r.l. and to use the company logo exclusively with prior written authorization issued by Nuovi Gioielli S.r.l .. In case of issue of this authorization, Suppliers are in any case required to comply with all instructions communicated by Nuovi Gioielli S.r.l.

Ethical business

New Jewels S.r.l. expects its suppliers to neither promote nor tolerate policies of corruption, fraud or illegal financing of armed groups and avoid the purchase of raw materials (metals and precious stones) which are declared to come from areas of armed conflict. To comply with the provisions of this Code of Conduct, maximum transparency of the supply chain is required. To monitor this aspect, Nuovi Gioielli S.r.l. reserves the right to conduct verification audits at the Supplier, subject to authorization by the Supplier when the situation may require it. New Jewels S.r.l. following the verification audit, it also reserves the right to share corrective action plans and verify their implementation. New Jewels S.r.l. reserves the right to terminate any business with Suppliers who seriously or deliberately violate this code of conduct or make use of sub-Service / Collaboration Providers who seriously or deliberately violate this code. Business integrity: Nuovi Gioielli S.r.l. Suppliers are expected not to engage in or tolerate any type of corruption, extortion or embezzlement. Suppliers are required not to offer Nuovi Gioielli S.r.l. gifts or other personal benefits that are a direct consequence of their supply relationship. Fair Competition: Suppliers are required to conduct their business in line with the principles of fair competition and in compliance with all applicable anti-trust laws.

Environment:

In production activities, adverse effects on the environment and natural resources must be minimized, while preserving the health and safety of the worker and observing all applicable environmental laws and regulations. Nuovi Gioielli S.r.l. is committed to providing sustainable services and products for the environment and is committed to continually improve all its commercial activities in compliance with all applicable rules and regulations and collaborating with customers and suppliers to reduce emissions and waste harmful to the environment produced with its activities. Suppliers must conduct their activities in such a way as to minimize the impact on natural resources and protect the environment, customers and employees. They must ensure that their activities are conducted in accordance with the laws relating to emissions, water discharges, toxic substances and the elimination of hazardous waste. They must have knowledge of sufficient input materials and components to ensure that such materials have been obtained from authorized sources, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Suppliers may be required to validate this source.

  • Nuovi Gioielli S.r.l. expects its Suppliers to respect the same values ​​and, in particular, the same principles:
  • Suppliers must receive and keep all necessary environmental authorizations and records and must follow and comply with the reporting operating requirements set forth in such authorizations.
  • Suppliers must do everything in their power to try to reduce any type of waste produced by their business.
  • Suppliers must monitor, control and adequately treat the waste water and solid waste produced by their activities.
  • Suppliers must monitor, control and adequately treat atmospheric emissions of volatile organic chemicals, aerosols, corrosive agents, particulates, ozone-depleting chemical compounds and combustion by-products generated by their activities.
  • Suppliers must comply with all applicable laws and regulations relating to the prohibition or limitation of the use of specific substances, as well as the laws and regulations governing the communication of any illegal discharge – intentional or involuntary – of waste and emissions.

Health & Safety:

Nuovi Gioielli S.r.l. expects its Suppliers to have an adequate health and safety policy, capable of guaranteeing at least compliance with the following principles:

  • Employees’ exposure to potential safety risks must be monitored and controlled through adequate administrative checks, preventive maintenance and workplace safety procedures.
  • Emergency situations must be identified and subjected to careful evaluation; in addition, their impact must be minimized through the implementation of emergency plans and appropriate intervention procedures.
  • It is necessary to be able to rely on procedures and systems capable of managing, recording and reporting accidents at work and occupational diseases.
  • Employee exposure to physical, chemical and biological agents must be identified, assessed and monitored.
  • Employee exposure to physically demanding tasks must be identified, assessed and monitored.

Treatment of Confidential Information:

The Supplier undertakes not to disclose to any person, business or company and will ensure that its employees do not disclose to said third parties, either directly or indirectly, the technical know-how or other confidential information – including but not limited to. , all the data, drawings, projects, sketches, specifications, samples, models used for the manufacture of the products – which may be acquired in connection with the execution of this code of conduct. Our Suppliers can expect Nuovi Gioielli S.r.l., once they have received the appropriate authorization, to protect their confidential information in the same way. The Supplier undertakes to keep complete physical and documentary traceability of all goods, objects and equipment supplied by Nuovi Gioielli S.r.l. Upon expiry, termination or withdrawal of existing contracts, the Supplier must return to Nuovi Gioielli S.r.l. immediately and without retaining a copy, any document, drawing, project, model or prototype containing specific information relating to the constructive or functional characteristics of the processes, which it has come into possession. Furthermore, the Supplier is invited to return the tools (punch), supports and any remaining precious metals owned by Nuovi Gioielli S.r.l.

In fulfillment of the obligation, the Supplier undertakes to ensure that the return is also made by all its employees, Suppliers and Collaborators.

Commitment of the Supplier

The Collaborator / Supplier must assist Nuovi Gioielli S.r.l. in applying the provisions of this Code of Conduct by communicating the principles to the relevant supervisors, employees and collaborators. The Supplier declares to have read and understood the code of conduct, undertakes to take positive action for the implementation of the code of conduct and to observe the code towards all employees and workers, through clear verbal information

and displaying the text in a clearly visible and accessible place to all.
